Prosthetic knee joint-pneumatic knee joint

Prosthetic knee joint-pneumatic knee joint  There is an inflatable cylinder in the pneumatic knee joint. During the early swing, the piston will fall into the cylinder, and during the later swing, it will rise into the piston. Because air is also a kind of fluid, the damping is proportional to the speed of motion. The faster a person walks, the greater the resistance, thus reducing the asymmetry between residual limb movement and prosthetic limb movement. Pneumatic knee joint is usually lighter and cheaper than hydraulic knee joint. However, hydraulic knee joint pace control is better. After all, the density of air is lower than the viscosity of oil. Prosthetic knee joint-support phase control

Prosthetic knee joint-support phase control    1. Lock the knee joint manually Manual locking knee joint has a distal pin locker. When the knee is fully extended, the pin will automatically click and lock. Prosthetic users don't have to worry about accidental knee bending when standing, but their knees will walk stiffly. Prosthetics are usually shorter than healthy side limbs to facilitate foot clearance during the swing of the prosthesis. The prosthetic user can unlock the knee joint by pulling the rope outside the socket. Manual locks are recommended for those with hip extensor muscle weakness or problems in balance, endurance or cooperation. It is also useful for people who need to stand for a long time. 2. Automatically lock the knee joint Automatic locking knee joint is stable in the initial stage of standing, but knee bending is allowed in the later stage of standing and swinging. At the initial stage of standing, the wedge is pressed into the curved groove to prevent unnecessary knee bending, especially when the knee is not fully extended for initial contact (for example, when walking on uneven ground). In the later posture and swing period, the weight activates the brake and the lock will be released. This knee joint is suitable for prosthetic users who have just amputated or have poor balance. This knee joint increases weight, mechanical complexity and the cost of artificial limbs.    SHIJIAZHUANG  AOSUO O&P

The knee joint -axis control

The knee joint -axis control When the prosthetic user sits or walks, the prosthetic knee joint simulates the movement of human knee joint through uniaxial or multiaxial structure. 1. Uniaxial knee joint Uniaxial knee joint has transverse hinge, which can make lower leg bend and stretch. The knee joint is light and durable, and the whole stability is realized by aligning the artificial limbs.  2. Multi-axis knee joint The polyaxial knee joint has two or more pairs of rods connecting the upper and lower parts of the knee joint. Both ends of the rod pivot, thus forming a center of motion for rotation. When the prosthetic user bends the knee, the rods cross proximally and backward, thus changing the center or rotating, thus improving the stability of the knee in the standing stage. The inherent stability of polyaxial knee joint makes it especially suitable for people with short residual limbs or weak hip muscles. However, multi-axis knee joint is not as durable as single-axis knee joint.   SHIJIAZHUANG AOSUO O&P
