Parts and functions of above knee prosthesis

If you want to know the price of the AK prosthesis, you must know the components of the above knee prosthesis At present, most of the thigh prostheses adopt modular structure. The whole thigh prostheses usually consist of six parts: acceptance cavity, knee joint, prosthetic foot, prosthetic connectors, cosmetic prostheses and other accessories. Their impact on the price of thigh prostheses is as follows:

(一)Reception cavity: ★★

The lower limb prosthesis receptive cavity is the interface between the residual limb and the lower limb prosthesis, and it is the interface of the human-machine system. The lower limb receptive cavity contains the residual limb, which plays the role of bearing, controlling the movement of prosthetic limbs and suspending prosthetic limbs. Whether the prosthetic limb can function and whether the patient is comfortable to wear depends entirely on the receptive cavity. Full contact and full load-bearing are the basic requirements of modern prosthetic limb assembly for the receptive cavity. The acceptance cavity should not only accommodate the residual limbs well, but also meet the requirements of sports anatomy and biomechanics.

(2) Knee joint:  ★★★★★

Knee joint is an important functional component of knee prosthesis, thigh prosthesis and hip joint amputation prosthesis, and it is also the most complex component. The most basic requirement for knee function is that the knee joint can remain stable in the support period and bend in the swing period. There are many kinds of knee joints with different functions. According to the number of rotating axes, the knee joint is divided into uniaxial knee joint and multiaxial knee joint. According to the method of stability control during support period, the knee joint is divided into manual clavicle joint, load-bearing self-clavicle joint, geometric clavicle joint and hydraulic joint. According to the control method of swing period, the knee joint is divided into simple swing joint, friction control joint, pneumatic joint, hydraulic joint and micro-electronic control joint. According to different materials, there are single alloy steel, stainless steel, titanium alloy knee joint, but also used aluminum alloy and stainless steel, carbon fiber and stainless steel composite knee joint. For long residual limb prosthesis and knee amputation prosthesis, there are more suitable knee amputation joints.

(3) Artificial foot and ankle:  ★★★★

Artificial foot and ankle joint are the basic components of lower limb prosthesis, which have many kinds and characteristics, and are used to compensate for the support and walking function of human foot. At present, SACH foot, uniaxial foot, energy storage foot and universal foot are widely used.

(4) Connectors:    ★★★

In addition to functional components such as prosthetic feet and joints, skeletal lower limb prostheses have many supporting and connecting components, as well as other special functional components.

(5) Other accessories:  ★★

In the lower limb prosthesis, there are some special components, such as the screw, torque absorber, suspension belt and so on. These components can meet the special needs of patients.

Some patients may need accessories such as stump sheaths to meet the needs of improving wear comfort, because these accessories are not very fixed life, and their impact on the price of thigh prostheses is mainly reflected in the long-term cost of use.

(6) Cosmetic prosthesis

External decorations have the least impact on the price of prosthetic limbs. At present, there is not much demand for the replacement of exterior decorations on one's own initiative, but some patients have certain requirements for the simulation of exterior decorations, so this kind of special exterior decoration requires extra expenditure.
