The Importance of full contact with the prosthetic socket

The Importance of full contact with the prosthetic socket    When amputees walk with lower limb prostheses, people tend to focus on gait harmony. In fact, the various changes of the residual limb are inseparable from the receptive cavity that absorbs and accommodates the residual limb. The socket is the most important part of the prosthesis. It is in direct contact with the residual limb, supports the weight of the human body, and controls the movement of the prosthetic limb. The comfort of wearing a prosthesis depends entirely on the fit of the socket. The receptacle is an important structure that affects the wearing comfort and function of the prosthesis. Full contact and maximum stump load-bearing are the requirements of modern prosthetic fittings for sockets.   Weight bearing and movement are the most fundamental roles of lower limb prostheses. The reliable "connection" between the residual limb and the socket guarantees a solid line of prosthetic function. Any tiny "prosthetic joint" and "piston motion" between them will hinder the amputees' precise control of the prosthesis, thereby reducing standing and walking stability and increasing the patient's energy expenditure. Full contact between the residual limb and the socket helps to achieve the goal of a strong connection between the residual limb and the socket.   shijiazhuang aosuo o&p
