According to the used part of the prosthetic leg knee prosthesis material, it can be divided into unicompartmental prosthesis (single-compartmental prosthesis), double-compartmental prosthesis excluding patellofemoral joint replacement, and total joint prosthesis (three-compartmental prosthesis).

Composition and classification of prosthetic leg knee prosthesis material
A prosthetic leg knee prosthesis material consists of three parts:
1. Femoral Prosthesis: Surface replacement of the end of the femur. The femoral prosthesis is composed of metal alloys.
2. Patella prosthesis: replaces the inner surface of the patella that rubs against the femur. The patella prosthesis consists of plastic with a metal alloy backplate.
3. Tibial prosthesis: It can be a single or two-piece design. The one-piece design consists of plastic, and the two-piece design consists of a metal tray attached to the bone and a plastic sheet. Plastic spacers provide a smooth surface on which the femur moves. Plastic spacers are usually attached to the tibial tray.
Classification of prosthetic leg knee prosthesis material:
2. According to the fixation method of prosthetic leg knee prosthesis material, it can also be divided into bone cement fixed prosthesis and non-cement fixed prosthesis.
3. According to the degree of mechanical restriction provided in the prosthesis design, it can be divided into non-restrictive prosthesis, partially restrictive prosthesis, highly restrictive prosthesis and fully restrictive prosthesis (hinged prosthesis).
