[Abstract]:
What is the process of installing a prosthesis?

After the patient's body and residual limb conditions are suitable for the installation of the prosthesis, the prosthesis installation unit should be checked first. The diagnosis and prescription should be carried out by professional technicians and enterprise personnel, and then the prosthesis should be configured according to the specified prosthesis type. The following procedures must be followed:

1. Residual limb shaping and limb residual limb training: use elastic bandages or temporary prostheses. Train EMG or leg muscles, balance, etc.

2. Take out the mold: usually wrap the residual limb with a plaster bandage, and take out the female mold of the residual limb. There are also various methods, such as air pressure, computer scanning and so on.

3. Prosthetic limb assembly: Assemble selected prosthetic limb components according to specific technical requirements, including various alignment procedures.

4. Try-on: The patient tries on the prosthesis and performs adjustments, such as dynamic alignment.

5. Training: Perform functional exercises after wearing the prosthesis.

6. Rehabilitation evaluation: The assembly unit technology and management personnel will objectively evaluate the effect of assembly and use of the prosthesis, and inform the patient of the use of the prosthesis.

Generally speaking, the above process takes 2 to 3 weeks, and the exact time depends on the practice.
